The design team in the Government's Digital Service have a Tumblr. How hipster of them.
But before you think they're all reblogging pictures of triangles floating in space, they're actually using it as a place to publish their values and design principles for their employees and the general public to view, reblog or even print.
Covering everything from workplace equality to UX to copy (or 'content design' as they call it), they've created striking posters and stickers that make something that could seem boring into something creatively purposeful.
The GDS slogan seems to be 'simpler, clearer, faster' and the posters all follow a bold and minimalist style that quickly and simply gets across their meaning in one glance. No faffing about. They also have a lot of these values published on their design team blog, but as you see when you look here, the visual versions (there are a couple of examples shown below) are a lot more effective at quickly explaining and reinforcing their ideals.
You can find all of their posters and stickers on their tumblr but here are a few of my faves. A nice way to make reinforcing process a bit more fun and a good way to get everyone behind the team values. Not exactly ugly in my opinion either.
